Shavuot Program:
Shavuot this year falls on Wednesday and Thursday, May 19 and 20. In
addition to morning, evening and Yizkor services Beth Tefilah hosts two
annual programs during Shavuot: the all-night learning session on the
first evening of Shavuot and the Shavuot morning Ice Cream Party. This
year is no exception and you are invited to attend either or both.

Shavuot begins on Tuesday night, May 18.
* The all-night learning session will begin at 12:30 AM early on
Wednesday, May 19 and continue untill 3:30 AM. This year we will explore
the Halachic approach to In Vitro Fertilization. This complex medical
procedure holds the key to the happiness and well being of many
families. Much has been written on the Halacha of this subject and we
will explore some of that literature on Shavuot night.

Shavuot morning Ice Cream Party will take place on the first day of
Shavuot, Wednesday, May 19.
* Junior Congregation will commence at 10:30 AM in the Children’s Room.
The children will then enter the main sanctuary and line up around the
Bimah for the chanting of the Commandments. The services will continue
in the sanctuary while the children return to the Children’s Room for a
delicious Ice Cream Party. A dairy buffet lunch for the entire
congregation will follow the services.

The Shavuot Dairy Luncheon is co-sponsored by
* Congregation Beth Tefilah,
* Ora and Zohar Stefanic to thank G-d for and to honor the birth of
their baby daughter Oreet, and
* Stephen Antony in honour of his nephew's 7th birthday (Ryan Lipnicki),
and his niece's 4th birthday (Elizabeth Lipnicki).

Yizkor is recited on the second day of Shavuot, May 20, at approximately
11:30 AM.
